Insar Shaken started out studying law at Charles University before switching to Screenwriting and Dramaturgy at FAMU. There, alongside writing scripts, he's directed short films including Magda (2021), which was shortlisted for the Czech Magnesia Award, competed in the National Competition at Prague Shorts Film Festival, and screened at Finále Plzeň. Beyond his narrative work, he was also selected in 2022 for the Young Directors competition at APA, which focuses on up-and-coming commercial directors; another area he's actively working in.
